The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is one of the world’s most influential technology conferences, bringing together innovators, brands, and industry leaders to showcase the future of consumer technology.
This independent conceptual project explores how the CES visual identity could be reimagined for a future conference experience. The objective was to develop a flexible event identity system that communicates innovation, connectivity, and forward-thinking technology while remaining adaptable across digital, print, and environmental applications.
Rather than redesigning a logo in isolation, the project focuses on building a complete conference identity capable of creating a memorable experience before, during, and after the event.
Technology conferences compete for attention in a crowded event landscape where every visual touchpoint contributes to the attendee experience. The challenge was to create an identity that felt unmistakably technological without relying on overused futuristic clichés.
The system also needed to remain highly flexible, functioning consistently across signage, event merchandise, digital platforms, social media, presentations, and promotional materials while maintaining a strong visual presence at every scale.
“This project is an independent conceptual rebrand exploring a future visual identity system for the Consumer Electronics Show (CES). It was developed to demonstrate a strategic approach to conference branding, environmental design, and integrated visual communication.”
The identity draws inspiration from electronic circuitry and the interconnected nature of modern technology. The logo was developed using continuous line forms that resemble electrical cables and connections, reinforcing the idea that innovation is built through networks, collaboration, and communication.
Supporting graphics extend this concept into a cohesive visual language through custom patterns, iconography, and key art. Rather than decorating applications, these elements work together as a modular system that can expand across every conference touchpoint while maintaining a consistent visual identity.
A bold colour palette paired with clean typography creates a balance between professionalism and energy, allowing the identity to feel contemporary without sacrificing clarity or legibility.
Studied the CES brand, audience, and position within the global technology industry to identify opportunities for a refreshed visual direction that celebrated innovation while remaining recognisable.
Explored concepts centred around connectivity, electrical systems, and modern technology. Multiple logo directions were developed before refining the final mark into a simplified cable-inspired form that reflects the event’s focus on consumer electronics.
Expanded the identity beyond the logo by creating a library of supporting visual assets, including custom motifs, graphic patterns, typography rules, and key art capable of adapting across multiple applications.
Applied the identity across event banners, signage, digital communications, promotional materials, merchandise, and environmental graphics to test consistency and scalability throughout the conference experience.
Refined spacing, hierarchy, typography, and colour relationships to ensure every application worked together as a unified conference identity rather than a collection of individual designs.
The result is a comprehensive conference identity system that demonstrates how a single visual concept can scale across an entire event ecosystem. The project showcases my ability to build strategic identity systems that communicate a brand consistently across physical and digital environments while creating memorable audience experiences.
