Flavorcan International Inc., a Toronto-based company and leader in Canadian flavour manufacturing, required a logo redesign that reflected its values of quality, innovation, and Canadian identity. The goal was to modernize the logo while ensuring that long-standing customers would still instantly recognize the brand during and after the rebrand.
The existing logo presented several design issues: the mark was tilted, the shadow effect made it appear unstable, and the pairing of two serif fonts weakened clarity and hierarchy. These elements made the brand look less cohesive, less authoritative, and out of step with its industry positioning.
“Developed as part of a client brief for Flavorcan Int., Inc. Although the project did not move into production, it highlights my ability to translate brand values into impactful design concepts.”
To overcome these challenges, I reoriented the mark to create stability and intention, removed the shadow to simplify the form, and introduced a bold sans-serif typeface to strengthen legibility and hierarchy. This approach balanced modernization with brand continuity—ensuring existing customers could still identify the brand while welcoming new audiences with a fresh look.
Although the client was unable to finalize a decision, this rebrand exploration demonstrates the complete creative process: from brand audit and concept development to refined visual execution. The redesign reflects Flavorcan’s values while carefully maintaining recognizability for its existing customer base.
