The brief was to design a double-gate-fold brochure for Antelope Canyon aimed at attracting more visitors. I wanted to reflect the essence of the canyon’s striking light effects in both form and content.
Translating the dramatic interplay of light and shadow in Antelope Canyon into a print format was demanding—especially capturing the glow and depth of light rays while ensuring the brochure remained readable, well-constructed, and visually engaging.
“This project is a self-initiated exploration created to showcase my design skills. It is not an officially commissioned project.”
I observed how light streams from the upper parts of the canyon down to the floor and used that as a motif throughout the layout. Warm hues, drawn from actual canyon photos, were chosen to reinforce that natural ambiance. The “Beaming Lights” title ties the visual motifs to the emotional pull of the site.
The final brochure conveys warmth, drama, and a strong sense of place while still maintaining clarity and usability. It was voted “best project” by classmates in 2023, which reaffirmed that it resonated: the design succeeded in feeling immersive and inviting.
